After Your Laser Hair Removal Appointment:
Immediately After Treatment
- Redness and mild swelling around hair follicles is normal. It may feel like a mild sunburn and usually subsides within a few hours to a couple of days.
- Apply a cool compress or aloe vera gel to soothe the area as needed.
For the First 24–48 Hours
- Avoid hot showers, baths, saunas, steam rooms, and jacuzzis.
- Do not apply makeup, deodorant, or scented products to the treated area (unless advised otherwise).
- Avoid excessive sweating – skip workouts, hot yoga, etc.
- Avoid rubbing, scratching, or exfoliating the treated area.
For 3–7 Days
- No sun exposure or tanning on the treated area. Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily.
- Avoid chemical peels, retinoids, glycolic/salicylic acids, or other strong skincare products in the area.
- Do not wax, pluck, or tweeze any hairs – shaving is allowed between sessions.
- Dead hairs may begin to shed – this can look like new growth but is normal.
Ongoing Care Between Sessions
- Shave only as needed – allow the hair to shed naturally.
- Moisturize regularly with a gentle, fragrance-free lotion.
- Use sunscreen daily, especially on exposed areas.
- Stay on schedule – follow your recommended treatment plan for best results.
When to Call the Clinic
- If you notice blistering, prolonged redness (over 3 days), pus, or signs of infection.
- If you have unexpected skin reactions or worsening discomfort.
- If you are unsure about any product or activity post-treatment.
